SPD3159 SPD 3159 Egg Tart (港式蛋撻)

In Hong Kong you can find egg tart in many places, like bakery, restaurant, Chinese tea house. Egg tart really is a common food of Hong Kong people. People usually treat it as a breakfast or snack in tea time.

Originally, all egg tart pastry is made of shortcrust pastry. The texture of shortbread pastry(餅皮麵團) is very savory, just like a cookie. Later on, some bakeries and restaurants change to use puff pastry(酥皮麵團). Which is crisper and look elegant. But puff pastry egg tart still can not dominate the market. Because shortcrust pastry egg tart still has a lot of loyalty fans .Like me =]

One of my favorite egg tart is come from Tai Cheong Bakery(泰昌餅家).This is a very popular bakery, because the former Governor of Hong Kong Christopher Francis Patten like the egg tart from this bakery very much.
The egg tart in this shop is really tasty.Every time I eat it is very hot. The texture of the pastry is crispy. The smell of the egg is very sweet. And the portion of the egg and pastry is perfect.

There are many branches of this bakery. You can easy to find it. But in my experience, egg tart in head-quarter of Central is the tastiest one. This is the address of the Central head-quarter.

When we smell the roasted along the street with a dry wind. We will know,Yes!  autumn is coming."

Roasted chestnut which is commonly available during Autumn and Winter. Since Autumn is the best season for harvesting chestnut.

The  chestnut cart stall is the traditional style in making roasted chestnut. It is a really good snack in winter because those chestnuts are very warm and u can use it to warm your body.

There tends to have mre electronic roasted chestnut machine, however, you can't taste the traditional/ original taste of it.

Some chestnut carts may features with cooked peanuts, sweet tomato and so on. We strongly recommend to have a try of the sweet potato
